This policy explains how we handle your personal data when you visit thebetterlife.co or join our early-access list. We keep it plain, and we collect as little as we can. The BetterLife Company is pre-launch, so this policy covers the website and the early-access list only. We will update it before any product collects more.
Who we are
The BetterLife Company is a trading name of Livslyst OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia (registry code 17564310), at Järvevana tee 9, Kesklinna linnaosa, Tallinn 11314, Estonia. Livslyst OÜ is the data controller for your personal data. You can reach us about privacy through our contact form.
What we collect
- When you join early access: your email address.
- Stored with your signup: the date and time you joined, your approximate country (derived from your IP address), and your browser's user-agent string. We use these only to gauge interest and prevent abuse.
- When you visit: our hosting provider processes standard technical data, such as your IP address and request details, to deliver and secure the site.
- Fonts: our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is shared with Google to deliver them.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To add you to the early-access list and send you occasional updates: on the basis of yourconsent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
- To run and protect the website: on the basis of our legitimate interests in a secure, working site (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. We rely on a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, as our processors:
- Cloudflare, Inc. for website hosting, storage of the early-access list, and security.
- Google LLC for delivery of web fonts.
Where your data is stored
Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your email on the early-access list until you unsubscribe, until we launch and move you into the product, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. You can leave at any time.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to give you access to the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, provide a copy in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. Use our contact form and we will help. You also have the right to complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, aki.ee).
Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our security and hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies to keep the site safe and working.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the company grows, and note the date at the top.
